Higher Attenuation, Lower FG. Some styles seem impossible!

I'm in a hurry this morning but you were never going to get 1.004 to 1.006 and attenuation is confusing, there are lots of factors to consider. Maris Otter is a sweet with biscuit, malty grain but it has less fermentable sugars compared to some other grains and it's diastatic power isn't high...

Higher Attenuation, Lower FG. Some styles seem impossible!

You didn't share your recipe but the grain you use can make a significant difference, recipe building software like BF sometimes don't have every ingredient (grain) and you put in what you think is close but it isn't. Also what FG are you ending up with?

Does beer get better with age?

Even barrel aged beers have a limit, generally they are no longer at their best after 3 years.

What makes someone quit brewing ??

Drinking too much as you brew it, you drink it. You work out your saving money till you keep upgrading equipment. You start a brewery and you have no time.

    Yeast temperature

You'll get some extra esters, I wouldn't worry too much about it though.

What Is A Balanced Beer? - HBW LIX

The flavour, mouth feel and aroma of each ingredient in my opinion makes up the complexity of beer and the layers of flavour. Although all elements feed into the balance, generally balance is the bitterness to sweetness ratio. You can have a very high IBU IPA but isn't perceived to be that high...

How to open a beer bar and change the world

It's not possible to do it for $10K in Australia, the system is set up so only people with some (alot more than $10K) money behind them can do it. You will learn heaps along the way though if you want to take the leap.

Australian craft beer makers are at bursting point. So where to next?

From the many surveys that have been done on drinkers and 0 % alcohol beer, there is not a significant market for it. I think the many bits on social media and even print media are part of a campaign by some of the big companies to make 0 % abv beer trendy. By saying it is enough times it...

Australian craft beer makers are at bursting point. So where to next?

I understand the price is a problem and it could be the thing that kicks the craft beer industry in the ass in the end BUT as someone who has just opened a small brewery, I think I'm qualified to speak on this. First there are alot of variables eg rent, however that can be offset by the fact...
