Suggest a brew based on Inventory

I know many would say it's blasphemy, but I reckon an app which knew what you had, and randomly produced a recipe based on a style choice would be ace. Random Brew Generator!

Suggest a brew based on Inventory

I've rethought the code, and will soon have a working version - this will let you enter your inventory, add your recipes, and tell you which recipes you have inventory to brew. In making it though I reckon a complimentary feature would be to have a more fundamental "you can brew this style from...

Suggest a brew based on Inventory

Beer alchemy looked awesome until I saw they are stuck in apple land.

Suggest a brew based on Inventory

I have no experience with BS (Beersmith, the other BS I'm an expert in) but for my needs, it's too much program. I read a few comments on forums of people asking for the feature to suggest recipes based on inventory - so I suppose it's probably in by now. Definitely worth $25 if it is, but as...

Suggest a brew based on Inventory

Yep, aware of the current ingredient limitations, but just found a few lists and whacked them in to prove the concept. The final version should have the ability to add an ingredient to the list easily. Also agree re: break down of brew components. Would be nice to have recommended substitutes...

Suggest a brew based on Inventory

Sorry, forgot the two step file add jazz. Not overly familiar with Open Office - I don't think it allows for a number of function excel is good for - but i may be able to make it work for both. I know excel though, so will continue with what I know for now

Suggest a brew based on Inventory

I've been looking around for a simple inventory db which can use that info to suggest a brew. So far, not found much so decided to try to whack something up in excel. Only spent an hour or so on this today, but it's promising so will persevere. Currently the sheet only works on the ingredient...

    Name your Brew?

The next one should be "All your base are belong to us" For those old enough to remember such ancient memes.

    Temperature Probe

just the wire too short - it's about 1m, with a metal cap about 2 cm at the end

    Name your Brew?

The next dubbel I brew has to be called: "Wubba Lubba Dub Dubbel"

    Name your Brew?

So we've got the brewery name thread, but are your best brew names? I expect puns and inuendo folks. So far I've named three: Femelle Claque! - a Belgian Dark Strong (thanks to a good cartooning mate for the label :) Crystal Method - an ESB and "Bring on Ze Dubbel" - which is obviously, a...

    Naming your home brewery

I've got "dirthouse brewing" as i live in a house made of dirt. more interesting however is the names we give our beers... new thread perhaps!

    Temperature Probe

I've looked through a few threads on here, but couldn't find a definitive answer... the temp probe for my temperature controller is too short, and needs lengthening. Should I open the box and rewire a new longer probe in there if so, where to get one, or can i just patch in some wire to the...

    Wyeast 3787

Well, I had this smack pack sitting the fridge for a couple of months - and it had been in G=Gs fridge for a few months before that... nearly 10 months old and I was pretty confident it was toast. Regardless, last week I made a 2 litre starter and dumped in the contents... took a about five...

    Label Stickers

Cheers for the other options - I hadn't found anywhere doing short run stuff, will look into it. IN the meantime I'll await the arrival of the RB ones and report back on the quality etc.

    Label Stickers

So, while not exactly cheap cheap, I found that redbubble are now producing diecut stickers in runs as low as 1. I've got a brew that's been a WIP since november last year, and I'm about to bottle it - I got a mate to design me up a label and I'm getting a dozen stickers done - total cost $15...

    Hot or cold water measurements?

I never worry either. Have enough water to be able to swim the grain. If it's too much at your preboil, just boil for linger, starting hop additions later. If too little, add boiled water. I reckon trying to be ultra precise with starting water in biab sets you up for issues, as different grains...

    The Brew

I was on my second stubbie when I thought, you know I oughta, get out all my brewing gear and brew that chocolate porter And so outside I gathered all the bits that i required to make that silky chocolate joy my tastebuds so desired It started well enough I guess, the grain went in to mash, so...
