    Cube Storage and Fresh Wort

Thanks S.E Id be more inclined to brew ferment and rack the fermented wort to the cube. How long will this last if kept airtight at room temp? From there when a keg became available id probably force carb over a period of a week before connecting to my taps. If we wanted to bottle from the cube...

    Another dead starter

Yeah I store 3 of 4 in the fridge and grow the third. Im yet to have a vial of spit yeast go bad or fail to start. With that said tho i might move up to that process where ya store it in gelitine and freeze it. Cant remember what its called. I dont use stir plates or flasks just an old coke...

    Another dead starter

I usually exclusively use wyeast for this exact reason. You know the yeast is healthy before wasting all the time and effort with cleaning and sanitation. With that said tho I've never had a yeast fail. Some have taken longer then others to swell. Additionally i split my smack pack 4 ways so i...

Hey guys, How's everyone's brewing going? So I've run out storage space. I have 4 batches in bottles, 2 keged and 1 in Tap Kings. I'm a newish BIAB brewer and I want to keep stockpiling. I always do 90min boils and I always chill to ale or larger temps appropriate to the style and the yeast...

    Super Sad Sunday Morning

Just at the pub watching the footy. When i get home ill try the sample ive chilling in the fridge. If its yeasty ill rack it off the trub and make a new starter of 2278 and go from there. If all good ill transfer off once it hits FG

    Super Sad Sunday Morning

The flavour is just quiet green. Theres a decent yeasty flavour so maybe i get it of the trub? The taste that sticks on the palet is a slight chemically dry flavour. Very hard to describe havnt tasted it before other then drinking warm beer. But its not quiet the same. Might just be the warmth...

    Help with recipes

I dont know much about making recipes. I usually copy or modify a recipe I've found. I will say tho that ella and galaxy to me would be aroma hops. Galaxy would be great in a IPA however im not sure if ella and galaxy alone will make one. I usually brew an IPA with several different types of...

Brought it in yesterday arvo and chucked a heat belt on to rais temp for a diacatyl rest. So some friends come over and we...

Fresh wort kits vs Can worts

I shop at Grain and Grape and they usually rotate there brews thru the kezza. There FWKs are amazing and usually very fresh. I usually use these when i don't have enough time to do a propper brew, or if i javnt got any yeast ready i just put one on with US05. Definitely worth the 45 bucks.

    golden ale

UPDATE Bottled these yesterday. I did rack the beer and left for 2 days to assist with sedement reduction and bottle clarity. I must admit i love this beer tasts so good. Cant wait till its carbonated. To be honest the final profuct of the 1372 is far superior to that of the us05. The...
