    Cascade spicy ghost

Here's an old post from another board which might help. I have never tried the ghost because of the bad reviews, but the recipes below don't look the worst Cascade sells the Spicy Ghost as a summer/wheat style brew, so it's probably using a wheaty-flavour yeast. Here's a couple of recipes from...

Hi Calobes What recipe did you go with in the end? Congrats on the successful clone :)

Odds and ends - American Brown Ale

Hi Shacked It sounds like a very tasty brew. All the extract, sugar and grains get you to the right OG and EBC for a brown ale (assuming you are going for a 23l brew) 40grams of simcoe in a 5l boil @ 30 mins would bring you to around 28IBU. You could probably do the boil with the Wheat...

    American Black Ale - Cascadian

Hi Robbo I will be really interested to see how this bad boy turns out. My predictions are showing 8.4% with 88IBU That is a big beer. I hope you pitched plenty of yeast :)

Hi mate Welcome to forum and the addiction. You have plenty of choices when in comes to purchasing gear. I was given a Liquorcraft homebrew kit as a gift several years ago and that is how i got started. You can pick up full kits at Big W. If you want to do it on the cheap, you can pick up...

    New Bunnings "fermenter" Style Containers

Sorry to bump this thread, but what does everyone do to 'clean up' the tap holes on these containers? I got another one of these the other day and the hole drilled into it for the tap is a bit messy on the inside. There are some rough edges which i think could be an issue for infections.

Cupboard clearing Extract recipe help please.

I like things malty and hoppy so I would be pretty happy to drink something like this. Just give it a go.

Hi Chris The hops will work a treat together and what Pratty1 said should work out well for you. Let us know how this one goes.

    New recipe please critique

Hi Chris How many litres is the hop boil? There should be plenty of aroma and flavour from this but even if you are doing a full boil of 20+ litres, the bitterness will be pretty low in my calculations. A 5 litre boil only yields about 16IBU with these hop additions. (20 litres yields around...

Love Tap IPA Lager for Winter

Good luck with your brew. It should be a tasty one. I On a side note, I think Love Tap uses Galaxy, Motueka & Tettenang for anyone wanting to do something that is more of a clone

    Red Ned

I've never tasted this beer before but it looks like it is still mentioned on their website (assuming this is the right one) http://www.townsvillebrewery.com.au/#!beer/galleryPage I would contact them and see if they can give you any info that might help. Sometimes breweries are happy to give...

    furious/healthy ferment

Hi mate I would guess that it took off fast because it is a lager yeast and a temp of 20c is high. I think the recommended pitching temps are around 12c-15c What temp is it currently at? Cheers

Need help with first beersmith recipe, gravity too high?

Hi beercus Did you mix everything up really well when you topped it up to 23L? Also, have you tested the hyrdrometer in water to make sure it is accurate? Cheers

    Red Ale redness

Hi gTrain I am by no means and expert but I brewed something that was similar to a 'Red IPA' a while back and used some pale LME and steeped some Crystal 60L. It turned out red in my eyes.

    House Infection?

Hello again everyone. I thought I would report back after using the tips in this thread. I cleaned everything with sodium percarbonate and rinsed with starsan (pulled the fermenter tap apart to clean). I then made a simple Pale Ale kit. I ditched the fermenter lid and airlock and used...
