    Using Honey

Hi, Made a few brews with honey, I don't use too much as it can over power your beer. Maybe I'm a bit rough but I just add it like dextrose with out boiling first. Never had a problem touch wood. Different flavour honey's add different flavours. I like honey from the guy that gets it from...

    Interesting Brew Carbonation In Fermentor

I checked it again and bottled this afternoon. The other brew I kegged. I had an old fridge in the shed so from advice from another subject I have cleaned it out and have made a brewing cabinate. Can fit in two fermentors. So the next brew will be at a constant temp. Thanks again.

    Brodie Sediment Extractors

Hi has any one had any experience with the Brodie Sediment Extractors. I use some today on my latest brew. A word of caution when tightening them onto the bottles don't over tighten. I learnt this lesson when I twisted the top of the bottle off and it shattered in my hand. Causing a...

    Interesting Brew Carbonation In Fermentor

Hi Thanks for the info. I've been reading the forum and try to follow the advise given. Tried the glad wrap once on a stronger version of the coopers due to the volitility of the brew and amount of gas it produced it blew the glad wrap away. It was a great beer it was nicknamed "mud"...

    Interesting Brew Carbonation In Fermentor

Airlocks are working well the Morgans is giving off very slow bubbles and the Coopers is stationary. (this fermentor doesn't seal well) When taking samples for SG readings the fluid moves back wards in the airlocks so they are not blocked. Just a weird brew I guess.

    Leaking Fermenter Bung/tap

HI, Try using either plumbers white tape or plumbers gas tape(Orange colour more expensive)(easy to use thou) wrapped around the thread of your tap before you screw it in. It will give it more purchase and a good seal. (Have a morgans kit that leaks and this stops it.) Make sure that you wind...

    Yeast Removal

Strange result from a mistake in placing bottles of a brew. Accidently placed bottles from a brew upside down in the storage crate. (Yes I was sampling a prior brew at the time). Left them for a month. Placed in fridge correct way up and when opened the very cold bottle the yeast was all in...
