    Brewers In Griffith Nsw

Having spent the last 10 years in the ACT I became quite accustomed to having a big brewers network, but having recently moved to the Riverina i would like to establish some contacts with some fellow brewers. If anyone on here is from Griffith NSW or surrounds or knows of someone out this way...

AHB Wiki: Kegs and Keg Parts

I just leave mine under pressure until ready to refill, rinse with hot water and then boiling water pulled through the lines and tap under pressure. Has never done me wrong yet.

    Commercial Beer

Just to give you an idea. These are new keg couplers http://www.kegsonline.com.au/category8_1.htm from kegs online. They would be cheaper on ebay but you cannot be assured of where they have come from and the quality etc. Here http://shop.ebay.com.au/?_from=R40&_tr...-All-Categories is a...

Ally Pot Size 60 Or 80l?

You will need a big mash tun, but a pump is not vital. You can still gravity feed. I managed 50litres into my fermentors over the weekend and I only gravity fed it. I started with a 40 litre pot and with a standard 22-23 litre batch it was tight. I have gone to an 80l and i easily get 50l into...

The Beer Gut I Actually Wouldn't Mind Having...

The only problem I see is that it may not work for some of our more ample bellied beer drinkers as it would look unnatural to have something on an already expansive gut. Not a bad thought though.

    Coopers Goo Can Vs Toe

It is amazing how bad the injury can be at the time for a 5 year old and then when they forget about it they are fine and running around. It is strange that this thread should come up. When i started brewing (I went straight to all grain) the kit that i bought for the fermenter included a can of...

Will Excessive Temperature Effect My Brew?

With active fermentation there is a small chemical reaction happening. This causes the temperature to rise quite a bit. I know that even during the winter months in canberra I find my fermenter temperature rising despite the temperature outside. It does make quite a bit of difference.

I Finally Got My S/s Fermenter

Headspace should not be a problem if it is ales. There are places that deliberately ferment their beers in very wide, shallow vessels with a lot of head space. Ale yeasts attenuate better with a shallow fermentation. (or so i have read) I will try to find the link and post it.

    Introducing Mates To Decent Beer

I have found that the best way is to offer to brew for some type of event. I brewed for a couple of christmas parties in the year jsut gone. Made some basic APA's, Irish Reds and the sort. Kept it to about 25-30 IBU's with not huge amounts in the way of specialty grain such as roast or smoked...

    Air Lock Not Bubbling

28 degrees might be a little bit high to pitch the yeast, especially since it has cooled down a bit over a couple of days. as the temperature of the wort gets cooler the yeast will slow down. you should make sure that the pitching temp is pretty close to what you want the fermentation...

    Sugar Lollies = ? Volume

I have disolved DME in warm water (the amount i need for the whole batch of 25L) and used a syringe to measure into the bottles. this way i am able to control the amounts between stubbies, longnecks and the grolsch bottles that i have. I can also control the carbonation level of different syles...
