Is Belgium Cherry Lambic The Worst Beer You Can Drink

Something to remember with all Lambics is that they have been innoculated with bacteria will continue producing lactic acid etc, way beyond when they are released for sale. So, you will find a recent vintage of framboise, kriek etc, far more sweet & fruity than and older version...If you don't...

    Taphouse's Hottest 100 Craft Beers 2010

The definition of Craft beer is a tough one... The Yanks at least have a definition, but even they have disagreemenst about it... Although some of their rules regading Craft beer would have been useful in the top 100 list. Independence, all malt flagship beer, small would have reduced the field...

Thomas Fawcetts Floor Malted Maris Otter

Sound like storage issues to me. Personally, have used Crisp Maris Otter from G&G and have been blow away with quality & extraction....

Any Know Of A Vb Recipe?

Hey Marksy, good luck... Just for my two cents worth, 5% sugar as noted previously is VERY low for VB... Start creeping up around the 20-30% mark, mash higher, and maybe more crystal for colour/body. Also, as mentioned by 4*, brew stronger, and dilute to approx. 4.6% ABV. Cheers.

New Beer In The Market - Broo

That YouTube clip was one of the funniest things I've seen in while.... It wasn't so much that he was actually funny, it's just that it was so bad, I had to laugh! Either this guy is a complete wanker, or he is extremely smart at marketing, or both. Then again, will bogans with no tastebuds want...

    Stone Brewing Water Analysis.... Help!

Just in case people don't understand......(& yes, this is called being a smartarse!) :P If Bob knows a number, but will only tell you that the number has been divided in two, how do I get this number? Hmmm..... I COULD do an analysis of the final beer.... but if I know that this beer...

    Beer & Brewer Expo 2010 - Thoughts?

Apologies! Sorry, but I did try and use the search engine using "beer & brewer expo 2010", and didn't find that one...

    Stone Brewing Water Analysis.... Help!

Man... talk about a can of worms!!!!!!!! Sheesh... As I said, I have the information about the treatment of Stone's water for one of their beers. It involves diluting Escondido Town water with RO water. Now, if I didn't have the approximate water analysis of Escondido, how would I get to what...

    Beer & Brewer Expo 2010 - Thoughts?

It was a wonderful weekend, with the sun shining, and great beer at hand... I for one really enjoyed the expo (well, the tasting part of it!) Who else went? Who enjoyed it? Who didn't? I'm keen to know if this will appear again next year...

Bridge Road Pale Ale - Remarkably Bad

I can second (& 3rd & 4th etc.) that Bridge Road Brews are fantastic! It's a shame that there have been problems, and I cannot help but think that the recurring theme of Dan Murphy's in most of them indicates a major problem. Turnover of stock seems to be a major issue. My advice would be to...

    Stone Brewing Water Analysis.... Help!

Well, sort of agree... Knowing what's in the water of a certain city allows you to match your water with a water from a different city. Certainly most, if not all breweries will play around with their water... Knowing how they have played around with their water is paramount...Once you have...

    Stone Brewing Water Analysis.... Help!

Hi all! I've tried finding Escondido City water analysis online, but just can't find it. Everytime I go to the city council website, Bigpond says the site is unavailable... I'b be really grateful if anyone out there can access the analysis sheets.... Cheers!

    Fat Yak - Ag Clone

Absolutely no affiliation with anyone whatsoever... I just love independent aussie brews, and believe that they need as much support as possible... And I don't like how Foster's go about spending loads on marketing to make a beer 'good'. Head on down to Slowbeer or Purvis cellars and get a taste...

    Fat Yak - Ag Clone

Perhaps it wans't made clear..... When you clone a multinational beer like Fat Yak, you have obviously purchased it and continue to do so.... And you will encourage your friends to do so by offering them similarly home brewed beer. If, however, you brew a feral, bridge road, mountain goat etc...
