    Cock & Bull Monk's Habit

not to ring my own bell but i have won some nsw and aust titles, so i am knowledgeable in different styles. I wasn't after a beer in this style as their beer is not abbey ale style as far as i'm concerned. What i'm after is a clone of this particular beer, not a recipe for the supposed style. Cheers

    Cock & Bull Monk's Habit

maybe it was over hopped with the styrian  but it really tastes like an apa, morish :chug:

    Cock & Bull Monk's Habit

Thanks Malted but this beer is no Abbey Ale, even though the name suggests it. It's a dark highly hopped, rich apa. And it melts in your mouth :icon_drool2:

How Do I Brew Tooheys New?

Teabags are those little 12g packs LHBS sell for dry hopping, steeping etc, just chuck the bag in. MB-89 or CL-80 was a Cluster/POR blend (80% Cluster I think, but now I'm guessing). Cheers.

How Do I Brew Tooheys New?

I started reading through this and by the second page, got sick of all the sh*t being flung back and forth, by f*ckers obviously tampering with themselves too much, so this may already been posted. Before I got a 'taste' for over hopped beers I used to make a quaffer something like this: 1 tin...

Nasa V Portable Hotplate V Immersion Heater

Thanks mate, just wondering is there any advantage to shortening wort heating times other than just saving time?

Nasa V Portable Hotplate V Immersion Heater

Hi all, I currently boil my single AG batches on the stove top (electric) inside but want to start doing it in my brew shed. My preference is for a portable 2000W duel element hotplate but would consider going the immersion heater route or getting a NASA. If it takes a while for the wort to come...

    Help Starting From Scratch

The coopers lids seal with an o-ring, screw top lid, they seal well but are much harder to keep sterile compared to the clip top lids. Any contaminated brews I've done came out of fermenters with screw top lids. Maybe I'm just slack when it comes to sterilizing. Cheers.

Hey all, Tried this after a mate bought a bottle back from NZ, probably the best beer I've ever had. After an ag recipe for something close if anyone has done it. Mandarin In A Black Ale

Well i gassed it today and it's pretty nice. Only a hint a mandarin, there is a weird taste that is probably from the pith, but it's not to bitter. Next time I think I'll add it @ 5mins and only use the rind. Cheers.
