    Confused Absolute Beginner

Yea only bottle when it's truly ready. My post was more in reference that in time the excess yeast will drop. That is all.

    Confused Absolute Beginner

 Mine needed it. I was dropping the dirtiest yeast farts after drinking them 4 weeks after bottling. 9 months and the were a clear beer when pouring, and my bodily odors werent so bad after!

    Confused Absolute Beginner

Hey mate sounds like a batch I made 12 months ago. I pitched a second pack of yeast after 4 days. Nothing bad will happen. When you bottle just leave them upright and after 9 months or so they'll be clear and tasty. Don't stress it!

Birko 40l Urn - Price Check

Hello, I'm looking at making the jump to all grain, and have been reading up on the BIAB method which sounds like a nice easy way to make the progression from Kit and Can brewing to All Grain, without shelling out $2500 for a Braumeiser! I've found this 40L Birko from nisbets for $269.95 - and...

    Secondary Fermentation...

I boiled them in some water for 10min before dropping them and the water into the fermenter. I gave it a good mix with the spoon and the added the yeast. This was performed as per the instructions with the kit.

    Secondary Fermentation...

Thanks for the many knowledge rich replies. I now have a better understanding of the process. My last question is that if I leave the fermented beer in the fermenter a week or so after fermentation has completed, given I have hops in a hops bag (like a tea bag) floating in there will that impact...

    Secondary Fermentation...

Hello all, 8 days ago I put together my second brew in months, and probably my 5th brew in the last 8 years! I'm slowly getting back into something I've always wanted to do, and thats brew my own beer and to be proud of the outcome! This time I've used a Muntons Blonde Lager Can, Black Rock...

Add More Yeast After 1 Week?

Still 1.022 tonight, I let it raise 2degrees today to try and spruse life into it. No go. Gave it a whirl and got the temp back to 22degree. Hopefully that will work. I'm using S05 yeast. Originally pitched at 30degree so maybe that's where the issue lays. It worked too hard and burnt out...

Add More Yeast After 1 Week?

I've had my brew in for 1 week and 1 day now, and after the first 3 days the fermenter stopped bubbling. It's been around 22-24 so I would have expected to see it go for at least a week. The OG was 1038, and the SG is now at 1022. As you can see there is still a heap of unfermented sugars in the...

    Where Are Our Breweries?

Adelaide here. Nice and warm outside, yet 22 degrees C in my fermenter!

1st Brew, Pitched When Warm, Flavor Ruined?

Thanks enuun, would raising the temp a few degrees be advisable? She seemed to be more productive at ~28 degrees opposed to the current 22 degrees. Edit the krausen is still clearly visable.

1st Brew, Pitched When Warm, Flavor Ruined?

So after 2 days it seemed my fermented had stopped bubbling. Temps had been around 22 - 24 degree C. Took a hydrometer reading, OG was 1.038 (I believe, might not be accurate due to lack of experience and 30degree wort.) and the next reading was 1.022. I figured I'd test it the next day to find...
