    Best Kit Ever

+2 did this sucker a month ago - was drinking beautifully in 10 days. Would love to know what was in it... After that my favourite kit is a Kilkenny clone built on a Morgans Amber Ale can. Can't remember the details offhand - it took four months to ripen but it was well worth the wait.

    Racking A Grumpy's

Happy Thursday peoples, I'm going to rack a Grumpy's Boston Cream Ale tonight which I'm quite excited about. It's my first time racking so I've got no idea at what temperature I should keep it at and for how long? Would appreciate advice! Cheers, Matt!

    650 Ml Bottles

I bottled a few brews into 650's a month or so ago. I used one of those double ended measuring things - one for stubbies, one for tallies, I used the tallies end and filled to about 2mm from the top. Carbonated perfectly. It's a guestimate - but if you don't want to bulk prime it does the trick...

Apa With Nelson Sauvin & Cascade?

Thanks Hutch, I do remember someone telling me that the S04 will give me a bit of a fruity flavour now that you mention it - which isn't what I'm looking for with an APA. Thanks for saving me! I've read a bit about the S05 but havn't heard much about Nottingham? So with the S04 - what should I...

    Secondary Temperature?

hey Franko, I'm bottling this baby. So I take it that racking is more beneficial when brewing lighter beers - lagers, light ales etc as opposed to this dark ale? cheers, Matt

    Secondary Temperature?

I'm finally going to give racking a good crack. I've managed to keep the temp of a tricked up coopers dark ale at around 21 in Brisbane without a fridge. I know this is still probably a bit warm but it's better than the 27 I was averaging with my last kit. I now want to transfer into a...

Apa With Nelson Sauvin & Cascade?

Hi guys, just been reading a bit about Nelson Sauvin and how it may work well in an APA. I was looking at doing this (please critique): 1 x Morgans Blue Mountain Lager 1 x Morgans 1.5k unhopped pale male extract 30g Cascade @ 10 min Safale S-04 So, if I added Nelson Sauvin to this, how much...

Looking For A Pale Ale Guru

Guys, what flavours will different ale yeast will give me with an APA (or any ale). I've got S-04 in the fridge, few have suggested US-05. Yesterday I acquired a Grumpy's Boston Cream kit which comes with S-33. Would appreciate advice. Cheers, Matt

    Fridge Temp Controller

hey Turto, what temp do you keep your fridge at up here in qld, how long would you keep a lager in there for example? And did you notice a major difference in your brews? cheers, matt

    Ginger Beer

DrSmurto, I was replying to SJW's post about whether anyone had made the Brewcraft kit, and I had ,so i was referring him to an earlier post I'd made reviewing it. I wouldn't have a clue as to what's in the can, I tasted the contents, wouldn't be surprised it if was a can of very light malt...
