Hi All,
Since a change in lifestyle has prevented me from doing any brewing for the past 18 months and a lack of storage space is preventing me from hoarding it all, i've gotta sell up. *sigh*
Anyways what i have for sale is:
10x milk crates full of crown seal stubbies. 250-300 in total...
the 'bethan used to be my local many years ago, i used to live about 500m up canns road from it. when i was a kid, well before the brewpub opened there used to be a lolli shop in there that i used to frequent often.
some good memories of that place.
they are cheap, so i replace them after 3 uses give or take. i remove the tamper proof seal before first use. the used caps i keep in a jar of iodophor solution (any no-rinse is ok i guess) before next use.
cheers for that link. i'm gonna have to print that out and staple it to the foreheads of the barmaids at my local, they always persist putting lemon in my beer when i constantly tell them not too.
have you thought about building a solar stil?
it's probably no help, the chemistry store at university i work at has a large RO setup to supply DI water to the university. i just take in a couple of 20l cubes every couple of weeks and fill them up for free. use it for lots of stuff, like...
so long as the rams can lift i can't see why that can't be made to work... but the use of compressed air gave me another idea for a single level design (sorry to distract from your idea). if you put a sealed lid on your HLT and mash tun, you could use the compressed air into the top of each...
i just use 6 g/L for dark beers , 7 g/L for ales and 8g/L for light beers.
so long as the beer isn't flat or exploding i'm happy. when i drink beer anyways (regardless of what sort, homebrew or commercial) the carbonation between the moment it is cracked and when i sip the last drop varies so...
better yet, use side cutters (the small electronics type) to cut the band off before you put the caps on the bottles. saves trying to remove them later...
storage for your stuff (shelves, drawers, cupboards). if everything has a a place to be stored then stuff doesn't get left sitting on all the available flat surfaces (including the floor).
keep the stuff you use and sell / give away / dispose of the rest of it.
normally i just have my entire collection streaming randomly over my wireless network to my netgear mp101 on shuffle. right now for the first time in a while i searched out an album to play cause i haven't listened to it in a while.

ah, a digitally minded person.
but i have to argue yes and yes, k-type thermocouples are reasonably linear over about 1500degC range but are only accurate to about +-1.5degC at the temperatures we want to measure (which is FA in terms of their full scale which makes them good for that range)...
