    Oettinger - Bad Batch?

They sell the bottles everywhere they sell cans AFAIK $30 for a case of bottles, $42 for case of cans I've never had an issue with them? but I only get the cans these days as they seem to be the best of the bunch, and saves me from doing multiple bottleo trips. Having only 2 kegs sucks so I'm...

    Express Post Fail Perishables

From what I have read, hops lose the AA % as they are left out, but a few days shouldnt be an issue. Most stuff I get from my HBS by mail is sealed so it shouldnt cause any massive concern. That said, if the delivery was late, at least hit up AP for postage. If you claim its a perishable you...

    Chilli! All Things Chillies.

Well my growing is half good half bad... My dog got into my jiffy pot for my trinidad scorpions, so none have sprouted... But on the other hand, my bhut jolokias have had a 95% germination rate, and have been moved to larger pots (they took around 2 weeks to sprout). Which is surprising because...

    Authentic British Indian Curry

Good to see more people getting into the curries! I've been making them for about a year now, thankfully I have an Indian grocery shop nearby so I can buy most of the spices in bulk (and get things like fenugreek, which seems to be impossible to find anywhere else) So far my specialty is...

    Chilli! All Things Chillies.

My jolokia's from a chilli I found on the garage floor germinated! Trinidads are just starting to sprout out of the jiffy pots too! Also just bought a bottle of scorpion sting chilli sauce from the chilli factory... brilliant sauce, great flavour, good bite from the chilli. Don't need a hell...

    Chilli! All Things Chillies.

I'd be keen to share some of what I've got once I get growing. Have some bhut jolokias germinating (from a single leftover I found!), there were particulary nasty last time I had them. So should be good. Have some red habs around, and still awaiting my Trinidad scorpion butch t seeds.

    Chilli! All Things Chillies.

I'll jump into this thread I guess! Just bought some Trinidad scorpion seedlings, was growing habanero's last year (till the dog decided it didnt like the plant...), and have been buying bhut jolokia's off people i know at $20 per shopping bag full. Time to step up and get myself a decent set...

    Thirty Degree Rule

30 degree rule I read in "Class beer style series #7: German Wheat Beer, Eric Warner" From memory he was a graduate from weihenstephan as a brewmaster... It recommends 12 degree pitch with 18 ferment

Bulk Grain Buy - Illawarra Area

Also would be interested in finding somewhere local I can get decent quantities of grain from!

    Next All Grain Batch; Helles

More reading on the subject recommends avoiding a protein rest - all about ruining head retention and making a thin watery beer with highly modified malts, but I have seen numerous threads on it saying the higher temp rests dont cause too many issues Maybe I'll employ the KISS philosophy and go...

    Next All Grain Batch; Helles

Right, since my last post I've done quite a few more brews (3 hefe's - including single infusion as well as a single and a double decoction; most recently I did a pilsner) Now I'm keen to try a helles. So I'm after some advice/help with a few things. So far I'm planning a grain bill consisting...

Cheers for the suggestions guys defiantly after some different beer styles and things to try, I think I'm going to need more kegs...

    First Ag, Second Brew Ever!

Cheers for the advice! Will be plenty more brews to research and brew, might look at redoing this one later with a better idea too, this was more about the process than the ingredients

    First Ag, Second Brew Ever!

It was a mixture of about 10 difference recipes, tried to get a jist of what people used and adjust it to suit what i was doing and had access to. Like I said too, still not sure on what grains do what and what sort of mixtures it should have, so experimenting is what I'll do!
