    Keggle Heating Element

I recieved my element in the mail today. I was surprised that it has a short flylead with a kettle cord (IEC) socket, not a socket moulded on the element. I am slightly disappointed with the finish of the stainless steel sheath. Instead of being capped with either a flat or convex end, the...

Aging Co2 Bottle - Advice Please

Not completely sure, but the only bottles I've seen with black temperature tags were rental bottles. If there is a label on the bottle with either BOC or Air Liquide, you're out of luck & only the owner will fill the bottle. Might be best to take a photo of the neck of the bottle.

    Keggle Heating Element

Would it be possible to convert the craftbrewer element into a heatstick? In other words, does the element have a standard thread, preferably a pipe thread? I could get access to materials to make an extension to seal power connector. I like that the craftbrewer element is sheathed & doesnt...

2011 Hop Plantations, Show Us Your Hops!

Well so far, my 2nd year cascade have yet to show any effort, aside from showing a couple of shoots at the surface. But that's still better than how my 2nd year goldings are going. I cut last years growth back about 2 months ago & added some manure & mulch about 4 weeks ago. They're getting...

    Di-ammonium Phosphate

I was reading the other day that Belgian Candi Sugar uses DAP to cause malliard reactions & invert the sugar. Pretty sure Mosher was mentioned in the same post.

    New Diy Coopers Kit

I would believe that the attached Coopers Patent Dated 2010 would be more relevant. I don't think that I understood all the lingo, but the drawings might be worth a look. There are some good features, but it's mostly reinventing the wheel.

    New Diy Coopers Kit

It could be... I wouldn't have thought so if its designed properly. I thought I'd seen this design incorporated into a stainless conical. If it works its a very smart design, no lid o-ring or airlock grommet for nasties to hide in. I'm not about to jump ship though, I like my tall narrow...

    New Diy Coopers Kit

Could it be that the fermenter is a two piece airlock, with the main fermentor bowl having a double rim to fill with water & the lid is an inverted bowl placed between the two rims?

My brigalow was a superautomatica too.

What's Your Oldest Bit Of Kit?

Nice bit of kit there Kai. I'd hate to see the sample jar you use for it though. Would make bottling day easy if you took 3 samples per batch (OG, FG & FG confirmation).

    Son Of Fermentor

I believe its known as "Son of Fermentation", not "Son of Fermentor". I'm suprised that google didn't notice a difference. I haven't looked on AHB for instructions though. PDF Instructions here I have only briefly browsed through the instructions above but have not constructed one as I have a...

    2010 Hop Plantations

:icon_offtopic: I won't deny that you get an earlier sunrise, but that's it... sunrise. It seems that the whole point of daylight savings is to shift that extra bit of sunlight to later in the day. My point is, in WA, you don't have to shift it, we get the extra in the arvo anyway. Well...
