    Simple Two Can

Thanks, I get the impression those aren't worth the effort. Happy to be proven wrong though.

    Simple Two Can

Thought the extract cans were hopped? Unfortunately closest homebrew is much further than the 5k limit and AusPost has been an absolute nightmare lately.

    Simple Two Can

Hey all, Long time lurker. Over the last several years I've done the famous stout/dark ale two can for Christmas. 1 can of Stout 1 can of Dark Ale 1 box of BE2 1 box of Dextrose I know I'm probably a bit of a heathen but it's always worked out well and others have liked it too. Looking to...

Ginger Beer Recipe - Scratch Brew No Kit

I work near Box Hill, so I think this might be a great idea for the next brew. I did it in batches and yes it was a total PITA!!! Done now and hopefully bubbling away (looked pretty dead in there this morning and I've just seen the recommendation regarding yeast nutrient...) Also added more...

Ginger Beer Recipe - Scratch Brew No Kit

I'll take your advice and divide the ingredients up. Might be a PITA, but I don't have a quick option to get a larger pot. Have seen a few threads here about buying one off ebay so might follow suit, not 90L though!!! :o Cheers

Ginger Beer Recipe - Scratch Brew No Kit

I'm looking at attempting Chappo's original recipe on page one. Just a quick question though, I don't have a kettle,l so does anyone see any issue with using a 3 litre pot and working in batches?

    Secondary Fermentation Temp

I just did the exact same brew, although I added 500g of DME and only filled to 20litres. I must say its only been in the bottle for about 2 weeks and the temps in my house (vic) are usually 6-19c. I popped a bottle or two (for QA of course  ) last night and must say the carbonation is far...

    Over Fermentation?

So does that mean you should remove any heat source (like an immersion heater) and just leave it as cool as possible once its finished fermenting? I ask this because I bottled my latest batch after it had been in the primary for 5 days at a constant temp of 20c (og 1060, fg 1011), its the first...

    Hot Box...

For me its not the primary fermentation rather the secondary/bottle fermentation I'm concerned about. I'm not too keen on waiting 3 months to sample my efforts, especially since it is my first return to brewing in nearly a year. Although thanks to this thread I think I have found my answer...

    Seconday Fermentation / Bottle Conditioning

Thanks for the replies guys. :icon_cheers: My problem now is that I dont have anywhere that is a consistent 15+c, unless I keep the ducted heating on 24/7 for two weeks (doubt the missus would let me!)! I was thinking of making an incubator of some sort that will keep the beer a constant...

    Seconday Fermentation / Bottle Conditioning

Hey all, Being a home brew newbie still (up to my 6th K&K over a 3 year period lol) I am trying to refine my brewing process. Up until now, I've vaguely followed the directions (other than sanitisation) and the results have not suprisingly shown this. So anyhow, I've got a brew on at the moment...
