Apple & Pommy Cider

Test-Taste-Time!
29/Apr/2013

I cracked another bottle open and gave this one a sip!
Very dry! tasty, but it's lacking something. There's no aftertaste :(
Not as much carbonation as I would have liked but it's definitely drinkable.
I paired this with a beautiful chicken meal, and it went down nicely (a little too nicely, if you catch my drift).
It's about 6.8% ABV and it REALLY hits you after a few sips, I was starting to feel tipsy after the 1st glass
Looks great, good job... nice colour and good to see the drinkability.

Yesterday I put a cider down, and put a cup of sultanas and some brown sugar in to my 22L batch. Apparently you can get some tannins from the sultanas (dried grapes, afterall). Tannins may be what you lack if you don't have a lingering texture over the tongue.

You could also try some LME. Won't give you tannins, but may help the mouthfeel... I will let you know how the sultanas go though. I will know in a couple of weeks I guess...

Love your work.
