I am trying to use up all my left over hops in the fridge ready for the new batch to come in soon from ross's bulk buy.

So I have some cascade and I want to do an APA however I only have 1098 British Ale Yeast or safale...

How would the 1098 go in the APA or would I be better off using safale?

Cheers

I have only used 1098 in a porter. However, it seems to give the beer a nice dry tart flavour. Other than that I would say it is fairly neutral. I would say this would be fine for an apa. I get a lot of the flavours of the hops and malt through and very little interfeerence from yeast flavours.

1098 is one of my main yeast that I use, I use it in most ales and got a first in the Canberra comp using it a Irish red and a second with a O bitter. In fact I made an APA Saturday and used 1098 in it works great.
