I've got an Andale Carlton font that was fitted with lock-in sidewinders. Looking a buying three of the Perlick taps on the current 'New Perlick Taps' post. Are the US / Aussie threads compatible and what additional shank/ fitting will I require. Attached pics of the exploded view of the lock-in adaptor that I currently have.

Cheers, Hoges.

also have an andale font and want those taps so i will watch this closely

I've got the old style perlick taps I used to attach to a andale font via fatlock adaptors. Now I'm not using the font and have them screwed straight onto a bunch of s/s shanks from the states I got from morebeer (5/8" straight thread I think) and they fit on fine... Dunno if it really helps, it tells us the fatlock adaptors for the taps use the same thread as yanky shanks... so if that weird adaptor you have is the same thread as fatlocks I'd hazard a guess at yeah, itll be fine. This stuff seems to be pretty standard - I'm obviously no expert though :p

See this coupling nut on Craftbrewer web site

http://www.craftbrewer.com.au/shop/details.asp?PID=826

This is what I used with the shank adaptor to fit perlicks to a snaplock
which screwed into the font.

Your screw on nut would need to be the same size. You could then screw the perlick
into it.

Regards

Graeme

The shank would need to be of the 'lock-in' variety as opposed to the snap-lock I would presume, so as to push in to the above pictured fitting. I have looked on the Perlick site but cannot find anything but threaded shanks for fridges.

Have included a pic of the lock-in shank attached to the sidewinder that is currently in place.

The ring shown at the right of the pics in the first post may be misleading. It actually lock the adaptor to the font. I have included a pic of the complete connection minus the sidewinder pushed in.

Cheers, Hoges.

Hoges/Fents - Not an issue assuming the threads are the same as the earlier release perlicks from the US. I have 3 US sourced perlicks attached to the font with these and works a treat.

exactly the answer we needed map's.

unfortuantly $65 per adaptor kit (x2) i'm gonna have to miss out on this one.

There may be other ways, and likely is, which would perhaps be some sort of straight perlick thread (male) to font thread (female) which just allows you to screw in the tap to the font, but I went for this due to the ease for disconnecting/cleaning and bling factor

Dont bother going to talk too the guys in andale, they were rude well the ons in adelaide were.
went in there 2 times and both time i got why did you by american taps, thats what you get for buying american taps and
thats why you buy australian made taps, they are pure A holes

If that adaptor shank did work for the lock-in type connector then I would need a ring that would couple the perlick tap to my current lock-in connection. ???? ie front portion of ring threads on to the tap and back portion threads on to the lock-in connector.

Yes? No?

Cheers, Hoges.

I think you've lost me on that. From your initial post, in the first pic, you need the 1st of the 3 pieces (this is part of the font). The fatlock link I gave you will screw into this part, and connect the perlick to the other end - i.e. you have a quick release tap.

pm me if you want to take it offline(offpost perhaps).

What I want to do is use the first piece and the second piece - then the adaptor shank (if it fits the second piece - a lock-in fitting) then a ring to connect both the external threads of the second piece and the tap. That's the best way I can explain it. If I was down the road from Ross I could go and play with the parts but that's not possible. Everything really hinges on whether the Craftbrewer adaptor shank is only designed for snaplok or will also fit into the lock-in fitting.

Thanks for your assistance Maple - I may take you up on your offpost offer.

Cheers, Hoges.

My Perlicks are on an Andale font but I'm not sure if the fittings are the same..
Here's a pic.
The recent high winds have left my kegerator a mess :(

I am not familiar with the lock-in ones but I had a look at one today and they are different then the adaptor shank that goes into a fat lock so thats not a option, but I think you can change it to suit, its just not as easy as they both fit each other.
