Another new beer at the Wheatie


White Goat on Tap.
The Mountain Goat boys have been good enough to swing us a couple of kegs of their latest experimental brew; a big Schneider Weisse-like Wheat Beer.

Crafted in the style of a Bavarian Hefeweizen, Goat Wheat is a spicy, tart, naturally cloudy ale featuring yeast derived banana, clove and bubblegum characters; full-flavoured, spritzy and refreshing. It incorporates 50% Wheat Malt in the grist bill and is fermented with a Weizen yeast at relatively high temperatures (22 deg C), producing a bready, malty palate and plenty of fermentation characters.

Tried it in Melbs at the Micro Showcase. I am not a wheat beer fan but it was okay I suppose. Plenty of bubblegum and bannana. IIRC it was reasonably strong at 5.8%!
