Hi all,

I would like some advice from anyone regarding a nice simple beer they had good results with serving through kegs.

I'm coming up to some annual leave, and want to create my shopping list.

Cheers,

Dean

any style you enjoy tastes great on tap! especially knowing it only took you a few minutes to "bottle" rather than a few hours.

seriously though, depending on how many kegs you have and how keen you are to continue bottling, i have found the stronger beers tend to tie up kegs for quite a while. having three kegs is good so i can have two easy drinkers and one strong beer on tap and still have decent turn over so i can brew and keg at a pace that keeps me happy. and if i bottle one, i know the next brew should have an empty keg waiting for it.

if its something you want to be able to compare to a bottled version, then any straight forward pale/amber ale kit will suit you fine. hope that helps.

Cant say I keg my beers but there pretty simple and are well worth it.

Mountain Lager:

Morgans Blue Mountain Lager
600gm Dex
250gm Light Malt Brew Improver
250gm Wheat Malt Brew Improver
12g Hallertau
S-23 Salflager
Carbonation Drops
Hops 5 mins before flame out.
(I'd imagine you'd be able to buy coopers brew enhancer or something like that)

Coopers Sparkling Ale:

Coopers Sparkling Ale
Morgans/Coopers 1.5kg Amber Malt
300g Light Dry Malt
300g Dextrose
Re-Cultured Coopers Sparkling Ale Yeast

Any of the fresh wort kits.......

i found the morgans australian draught very nice and simple, use one of the LHBS'S booster blends i think i made it up with #3
you can add hopss if you want or more malt ETC but i just wanted to try it so simple and see if i was wasting my money with hops ETC in all my other brews...

after 1 month in bottle i rate it mate.

i have it in one of my kegs and cant wait to have it on tap soon!

I agree. Morgans is a good brew. I use my local home brew shop "Brew Booster", which
is 500g dex, 250g dry malt and 250g corn syrup. I usually add another 400g dex.

This makes a superb beer, and simple as.

cheers
Dave

I'm partial to wheat beers, so far my favourite has been:

Morgans Golden Sheaf Wheat hopped kit
Coopers Wheat liquid extract
Safale WB-06 yeast

Ferments fairly quickly and can be drunk within a couple of days of kegging.
