Howdy folks.
I'm interested in getting hold of some hop rhizomes. How do i go about this? Does anyone have any cuttings they would be interested in selling / swapping for beer?
I live in north qld, so not sure if they'll be succesful, but willing to give it a go.
Cheers.

Has anyone got into trouble by nosy neighbours thinking they are dope plants?

Hi fixa,

Unlikely to find any rhizomes available this time of year, usually available in autumn.
If you don't get an offer of any cuttings, some of my excess rhizomes grown from
seed in my 'wild' breeding experiments, might be better then nothing.

I put a little bit of male pollen from a selected English wild hop on some of
my Columbus cones and produced these great looking Lupulin Covered Seeds,
from which I grew thirty little plants in my garden last year ...just left six in
for this season to check out the results ...all I had room for.

I put six of the largest rhizomes on eBay yesterday, see them HERE.
If anybody here wants to do a "Buy it Now" I will add a couple of (more if I can fit them)
medium size rhizomes in the express parcel pack for free, just email me.

These would be second best to a cutting from a named hop cultivar ...though if
you were VERY lucky one of these experimental rhizomes might produce a unique
brewing hop, hey you could call it the "Mackay Marvel" ;)

Regards,
Rupert.

My recommendation, not to mention many thanks, go to Cannabaceae.
I ordered 2 of the large hops he had for sale on eBay.
Not only did they arrive promptly, they were very well packed, and in great condition.

Many thanks as well Canna for the great planting advice you offered.

extremely satisfied....I'll be keeping an eye on your offerings next year :)
