I keep my beer fridge in my garage which gets very hot .

I only use a Pluto gun which stays inside the fridge .

I want to put on the outside of the fridge some taps and I am worried that the beer will go off on the tap outside as it is warm .

What do you guys do to avoid infection or beer going off ,do you just waste the first bit ????

Nicely timed post, i've been playing with the same idea recently and would like to have a 'Two Tapper' up and running by xmas.

cheers

Ideally you'd have a spare keg to flush out the line/tap between use, but I usually end up disconnecting the line when not in use, then ditching the first inch or two that remained in the line/tap, I also put a cap on the tap's spout. You will have to clean out the taps pretty often - which reminds me...

Morning Pumpy. Not a big area for concern. Clean lines between kegs and spray tap with sanitiser after use. A tap cover is also a good idea, it will keep those pesky little flies out of the tap. :D

Hi Pumpy,

It's not a concern mate - The tap stays cool due to the through fridge shank connected to it, which is being cooled by your fridge. A cap on the spout will keep those pesky vinegar flies at bay. all lines & taps should be cleaned regularly whether using fridge mounted or pluto style.

cheers Ross

I have beer line running from my fridge to bar coverd in insulation to keep it coolish. whenever i pour a glass i just let it run for about two seconds to clear out the line if its been sitting there for a few days.

And yes clean lines regulary.

i flush the taps between kegs with line cleaner and for each new session, pour off the remainder of beer in the line into the bucket.

as ross said, the shank holding the tap is kept cool by the fridge and i notice mine are cool to touch when not in use. a bit different to running a font with taps and having to pump chilled water through it, this is not a concern for a fridge/taps setup.

I just waste a little bit of beer - also because of the air bubble issue to avoid a glass of head. I've never covered my tap and have never had anything go wrong with them.

Thanks Guys you convinced me to give them a go
