I think a mid strength lager, and golden ale are in order for the first few rounds then moving into the ambers and stouts as it cools down, at least this way i will be able to watch the 2 games on friday night.

Hmmm, a beer to match NRL.
How about budweiser? A boring imitation of a better beer/sport (Budvar/Union)
And for AFL, any aussie megaswill. Nobody gives a **** about them outside this country.

It is the most popular sport in NSW and QLD and also the most popular sport in Australia.

By attendance, participation or television audience? I'm being facetious anyway, because you're wrong on all 3 according to the 2011 data.

P.S. No need to drop the C-biscuit on the forum.

P.P.S. I actually don't mind rugby (well, union) but why is a game based on throwing called footy? Apart from the fact it would sound stupid, it should be called throwy.

Haha excellent. It should be bitter, and salty from all the crying and carrying on... Boohoo we want the NRL to reschedule our games because we made the decision to take one to Gosford...Boohoo our final is at the SFS and our fans don't travel because they're spoiled north shore brats!

Haha, I hate Manly.

As long as there's something on tap it doesn't matter to me. Though I did find myself drinking a lot of strong bocks to numb the pain of multiple heartbreaking losses last season. Two to the silvertails from the northern beaches.

Television audience, and no I am not wrong. Rugby League has been the most popular several years in a row now.

There's no point comparing participation levels because of the way the AFL count Auskick clinic kids.

The AFL wins for attendance easily.

TV audience figures for this year have eclipsed the AFL by 15 million, sending a clear message that the teams who put on the show deserve the same $1.25 billion broadcasters recently paid for AFL rights.

NRL cumulative TV audience numbers for the year, based on OzTAM data, were 128 million, compared with AFL's 113 million, a 2 million rise in both codes on the previous year's figures.

2011 NRL: 128 million
2011 AFL: 113 million
2010 NRL: 126 million
2010 AFL: 111 million

The data you've probably looked at is capital city figures only. The AFL deliberately use these figures to deceive.
