9:30-10:30pm DOCUMENTARY - DRINKING FOR ENGLAND
Drinking is arguably Englands greatest and most persistent pastime, one
that is not constrained by either social or economic bounds. This
documentary from Brian Hill sets out to explore the celebratory aspects of
England's number one drug in lyrical fashion and has won several awards,
including the UK's Royal Television Society's Best Documentary of the Year
and Best Documentary at the MIND National Media Awards in Britain.
Characters like Denis - a retired professional gent in Norfolk whose daily
routine includes gin and tonic and thinks drink driving laws should be
relaxed for experienced drivers like himself - tell or sing their stories
in verse, their words composed by poet Simon Armitage. (From the UK, in
English) M (L,A) (Rpt) CC
This could be a must for all brewers and drinkers alike
Cheers
