What's the recommended quick release fittings for my 6mm beer and C02 lines?

Will regular air fittings work? Say, from an air compressor? I'm guessing they would be hard to keep properly clean?

Cheers

John Guest Fittings are the ducks guts - reputable homebrew stores stock them, as do the site sponsors at the top of the page.

Most of the JG fittings HBS' stock are for 8mm OD line

Also the cheaper 6pm ID line that you can get is softer and doesn't seem to work so well. My advice would be to use the 8/5 mm Valpar FlexMaster II line

can't seem to find that Valpar FlexMaster II in NZ. I'll have to continue to have a look around.

Cheers

Places that sell water filters will have the 6mm 1/4 inch JG fittings and you can get the right size tube from them as well.

Quick release air compressor fittings while cheap and readily available are generally not suitable since they leak costing you a cylinder fill and flat beer.

i get all my fittings in nickel plated brass...

not sure on the health aspects of nickel plated... i'm sure i breathe plenty worse just going outside my house...

from these guys, all sizes and half the cost of the LHBS

use 8mm for the regular JG tubing we all get from the LHBS.

anyone got a cheap source for the tubing?
