Stanton and Kileen vintage port. Only problem with vintage ports is you have to drink them once opened, good for sitting around the campfire with friends though.
Tokays are muscats are great too, especially rutherglen ones.

Not exactly port but:

Did some work for a wine competition a couple of years ago - got to take home a few boxes of leftovers. I was late to the party - most of the investment/high quality stuff was gone but I did manage to pick up a box of fortifieds which included a few grand and rare rutherglens ( tokay and muscat).

Not being the investing type, I have opened and shared one of the grands with the lady in our old backyard with the fire burning and another when we camped on the beach on the NE coast of Tassie.

When this shit's good, it's damn fine. Unfortunately I can never afford to buy this kind of thing so I am saving the others for a bit. Fanntastic flavours though - raisins and chocolate, sticky sweet but never sickly sweet.

sounds interesting, any names happy if you dont want to post it. please pm me

Two rare all saints estate and one grand stanton and kileeen left. Pretty sure at least one of the ones we tried was a rare all saints. As they were part of a wine show, they had generic class stickers placed over their regular labels so other than Rutherglen, I don't exactly remember the wineries of ones we tried. I do remember googling them and thinking 'yep, done alright there son' but for me, enjoyment of the product is key and we both loved it.

All saints are rare (one muscat, one topaque (muscadelle), S & K is a muscat as well.

No-one will do anything mean to me for posting that will they?

Rutherglen is probably my favourite wine region (then again I love Grampians region wines and Heathcote region wines) and Rutherglen specialises in fortifieds.
Campbells Isabella Rare Topaque would be my favourite though I also love Stanton & Killeens Grand Rutherglen Muscat.
I find Chambers wines all too sweet for my liking.
All saints wines take them of leave them.

I spend a bit of time up that way camping on the Murray. I often come up through Mansfield into the King valley across to Mt Buffalo over into Porepunkah shoot across to Beechworth and then into Rutherglen. Great camping, 4wding, fishing and wineries.
Patrol is finally back on the road after the carnage I did to the old girl up at Cape York last year so looking forward to heading up that way Friday week (I'm keeping clear of very deep water LOL).

Used to drink a lot of Grant Burge. Van Gent in Mudgee also did a really nice vintage port that I used to hit pretty hard as well.

Since I found single malts though, port has dropped off my radar. I'm finding it too sweet these days.
Mate, we've got a bottle of Pieter Van Gent Cornelius Port on the go at the moment.
Usually Port lasts up to 6 months in our house. This one hashardly lasted a few weeks.
Definitely the best port I've ever had. (for a $20ish range port buyer).

All saints were bought out by Brown brothers years as go. Funnily enough the same time the quality of their wines dropped.

Had somw of the stanton and killeen grand range. Just magbificient.

What you want to do is go to the young bloods and bloody lwgends or similar events and stay at a licenced bed and breakfast as they are in tight with the wineries. You basicly get invited to the after parties of when their are tastsings you just sit with the wine makers etcand get shit fced on somw of the best stuff. They bring out pre releses, vvintages no longer available wtc. Fantastic stuff.

Yes the spelling sucks on this post. No im not drinking port. Althought I do have a bottle of chambers 1990 muscat open from the other jight. Might go have a tipple.
