Sorry, forgot to add to make sure you read the whole thread as Aargon got the measurements for the extract and carapils wrong in his initial recipe and corrected it a few posts later.... if you're new you will also benifit from my newbie questions.

Cheers. Yeah, I saw that. I have the correct recipe in beersmith now.
My question was really about dry hopping in general, as all it says in beersmith is "dry hop 3 days/5days/whatever" doesn't really specify what the number pertains to. I dry hopped my kit beer that is bottled and drinkable now and I dry hopped that for a week (in the secondary. fairly sure it was at FG after a week in primary... maybe it wasn't) and for the first few days it smelled incredible then the aroma disappeared after about 5 days or so, so I was thinking maybe dry hop 5 days meant to dry hop for 5 days, so you don't lose the aroma.

Yeah not sure on that one... From what I have heard it should be fine after the main part of the ferment is finished and a little bit of fermenting shouldnt matter too much.. Maybe the amount of hops you used was not enough??? There is like 40-50g of hops dry hopped in this one!

True, it was a tiny amount (a crusty ol teabag 'o' cascade that I cut open). I shall be dry hopping the bejeezus out of the next style appropriate beer...
