I've found that sometimes corrosion inside the post can be responsible for leaking posts, it tends to occur near the top where the post and poppet seal. If you have a problem seal, have a look for this, it could be the cause.

Also, I quite like using a little beer safe lube to ensure I get a good seal on the poppets (never really had any problems with the lids sealing though).

I gave mine a mist over with a weak Iodophor solution and it's definitely leaking at the lid, could someone please point me in the direction of this Beer friendly gel for the seals ?

cheers

The forum sponsors are selling it yardy. Probably any food grade lubricant will do. I do find that the lids will leak when I connect the gas but once I turn the reg up to 100kpa the pressure creates a good seal. :D

If you have a lid that does not seal, first check the O ring it may be flattened or nicked.
Also over time the little legs that lock onto the keg(the ones with the little gray covers)these bend outwards a little. You sometimes need to bend these straight again, this will increase the force the lid presses up against the O ring, this will of course increase your seal.

Hope this helps

When you close the lid the locking action can screw your lid off centre & cause leaking. The best way to seal the keg is to hold the lid central without locking & then connect the gas. Once the lid is correctly seated you can lock it into place. Also as others have stated; cranking the pressure upto 200 - 300kpa & then connecting to your keg will result in the lid making a rapid tight seal - similar to inflating a totally flat tyre.
