Hi everyone,

I've just started my *ahem* second brew now and was doing some research when I stumbled upon my new home  ....... so I mixed my new brew last night and it was bubbling away nicely this morning when I left for work and I came home to find it frothing out of the airlock :( is this bad? Does it need to be rectified or shall I just leave it?

Brew is a Coopers Lager, dunno if you need to know anything else?

cheers

Lyall

Nah it's pretty common with some brew/yeast/temperature combinations.
Coopers stout kits are famous for it.

Keep the temperature as low as you can, around 18degrees, but if the coopers lager yeast is a REAL lager yeast(?) closer to 12degree's

Just refill the airlock with water and you'll be fine.

For the next brew, use a length of Polyvinyl tubing shoved into the airlock grommet in the fermenter lid, then drop the other end of the tube into a bottle half filled with water, great airlock that can't blow-out and catches the mess.

... and Welcome to AHB! your new addiction. :D
Shoulda been the first thing I said!
