Looks really great mrpolly & a job well done but perhaps you would get better drainage\efficiency if you were to add another 2 pieces lengthwise with the help of 4 ss tees? Are you able to strip it down for cleaning?
Just my 2 cents worth.

I was thinking I might need to add more in long ways, can try it out and go from there. I have never brewed ag so I wont be too upset if the efficiency is a bit low. For cleaning I was hoping that running PBW through for a while would clean it out, but I guess this is something im going to find out when I use it.

Looks the goods mrpolly

It will do the job and you can make some changes if you need too. The PBW will clean it out especially if you give it a soak in a bucket, just make sure you flush it good to get rid of anything stuck in the grooves.

Take a look in John Palmer's book HERE for a good example.
If you decide to add more pieces just leave a couple of joints unsoldered for easy dismantling into 2 pieces.

I can't because they are butt weld bits, I TIG welded them.

Nice long soak and pressures wash after might work, would the PBW be ok in the cooler mash tun?

Geez if I cleaned the manifold after every mash Id do more cleaning than brewing. A quick hose to get rid of the worst chunks and keep it unblocked is all you need.

When I had my manifold (84 AG's or so) I only ran the hose through it after cleaning out the MT but it was nice to have the option of dismantling in case something went wrong. Forwarned is forarmed as someboby once said. ;)
