Ok... looking at a 500L one of these....got a good price.

Would they be suitable for fermenting in? I can sit it in a refrigerated sea container.

I got quoted $700 for a 500L with 455m screw lid and 2" outlet from a local supplier! not bad at all. I think it'll be alright to ferment in. Just wondering if someone with more skills and experience with than myself has any comments.

Have a dig around on this site, somebody had one a few years back - looked a good setup.

There is a couple of guys using them here but I cannot remember the threads it what discussed about in.

Also, is the inner of it porous? Or perfectly smooth and flat? Wouldn't want to spend that amount of cash on something that's impossible to remove the harbouring bacteria from.

Im hoping there smooth. Ill find out.

Yeh, I'd ring the maker and double make sure, ya wouldn't know with agriculture based stuff, they tell u the inner walls of a rain water tank are perfectly smooth, but they ain't.

There's a bunch of nano breweries in the USA using plastic conicals. Two Kids Brewing Co is one and I've seen others but can't remember the names. I think I saw some on the probrewer.com forums.

maybe build a stand to mount a 25litre cube with a corner at the bottom, add tap in new location, ghetto conical kinda sorta. at least itwould help tap off the yeast even if it doesn't correctly set in motion the convection currents. but I suppose it might. Stuff it,i might try that.

maybe read the OP numbnuts, 25 Litres a bit different to 500

Does anyone have a chem data sheet for the plastic kit beer fermentors?

But the time it landed here the 30L Roto-mould unit would be the same price once you include taps etc..

Buy the Roto and support Australian companies
Fair call. Do they still do a 30L?
