Soo, pulled the wrong yeast out of the freezer, I've got cry havoc instead of dennys favourite..

Never used the yeast before, all my cubes are apa and IPA recipes..

Pitch or ditch (or give away) the yeast?

Never tried that particular strain, but for me the rule of thumb can be extended to yeast, pitch it!! You know your just hangin to find the "next big thing" this beer could be it!

You know what? I think I will
The thing fired so hard in a 500ml starter, I think I'll dump it into a 3lt and ferment at 12... Just for *****.. I don't need the beer anytime soon, I'm fermenting for stocks ;)

Hey Yob, I've seen you mention freezing yeast before. I never knew this was possible. Is there anything I should know before I give it a go. I have washed and stored yeast I might not get to using in the next few months and was considering ditching it. Do I just whack it in the freezer from the fridge?

Apparently this yeast can ferment at ale and lager Temps so maybe hit somewhere in the middle temp wise

I thought it was meant to good for ales.
I'd give it a run if it was out of the freezer and raring to go.

It's jumping, stepped the starter to 3lt last night and it's climbing the flask this morning.. It's getting a run, will probably ferment at 15'c

Have a search for "let's freeze some yeast " pretty much all the info is in there, read the WHOLE thread :)

Breaking a few rules will do you good, then you will realize there are no rules, just unsupported myths and legends about how we are supposed to go about producing certain styles because that's what we read on the internet.

Example 1: The deep golden Pilsner Urquell is supposed to be made from 100% pale pilsner malt. Yeah right!

Haha corniest clip of all time, I recorded Rage last weekend, Priest were hosting. :super:
Recorded it because I don't do much these days.
