Im thinking of doing my second brew in the near future. I want to make a lager this time as it is more my taste. Ive looked around on the forum but havent been able to find any good kit & kilo recommendations. So as the title says i would appreciate suggestions/recipes!

Cheers,
Appius

A,

Seeing this is only your 2nd brew, I reckon do a few ale type lagers first, to get the stocks up.

If you use a proper lager yeast, it will be more than 2 weeks before it can be bottled.

Of course, this depends on how much you drink, but I would die of thirst waiting for a proper lager to ferment out, and no beers on hand to see me through. :icon_cheers:

Bugger it. Have a go. Just buy a second fermenter for $25 and do an ale brew at the same time.

I've got time to wait... Ive still got a few tallies of my IPA to tide me over. Cheers for the recs though!

I have decided to make Morgan's Blue Mtn.
I have the coopers micro kit set up.
Id love to be able to make somthing like Stella!
Id like Alc% to be about 5 or 5.5
I have just done basic things before in beer making such as adding BE2, licquid malt extract ect....But im willing to try some basic new things such as tea bags and adding diffrent yeasts other then what comes with the kit.
Any ideas would be awsome! :)
Cheers! :)

I don't do that many lagers but one that I did not too long back has turned out a good'n in my opinion. Easy to knock up, real easy to drink, a good drop.

Morgan's Golden Saaz Pilsener
Morgan's Beer Enhancer (can you still get this?)
250g Dex
hallertau plug - 15 min boil
S-189 yeast

Too easy
