Im looking at brewing something a little different to the summer ales I have been knocking out fairly regulary.
Jayse Skunk Fart APA recipie looks interesting and one I want to give a go at.
Can anyone tell me :
(1) What is Melanoidin? (Jayse uses 200g) In some contexts it refers to a property of some grains, but obviously its a grain in itself. Can I guess that this is used to impart a redish colour or does it do other stuff as well like make a more stable beer
(2) I presume that TF is Torrerified Grain which I understand is steamed. Why would you steam crystal? That sounds like steamed and baked?. (Jayse uses 300g of TF Crystal) What are TF malts supposted to contribute to a brew?
