G'day brewers,
Regardless of the pros and cons of the value of using it, and being a grow-it or gather-it kind of fellow, I wanted to check with the knowledgeable types here regarding what species of known southern ocean seaweeds are suitable to use as Irish moss?
This puppy is the usual contender http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chondrus_crispus but I don't know if I can find it locally growing.
One of our old stalwarts (patron of Ausbeer) Gordon Clarke (dec.???) used to collect his from Point Lonsdale but didnt specify what species, so any help is well appreciated.
