Was looking to do the corny esky a la Florian for camping but the need has arisen for a smaller version.

Not yet taped, as I only have grey tape and want white, but apart from that, ready for Halloween round a mates while the kids are trying to scare old people.

I can already see design faults. All of the taping should have been at the top so the bottom was 'as built' so to speak and not relying on the strength of the tape. (Next time).

Anyway. 5 litre engine will give me approx 10 pints of the finest stout this side of the Liffey.

The only problem I see it that you accept Halloween as part of Australian culture .
Not when I was raised here !
Proudly Australian and protecting our culture, Beer and footy ;)

yeah stay inside and eat your pizza / Chinese / pasta / Falafel / Vietnamese / Indian / Kebab / ??? takeaway

no way we should enjoy ourselves and be welcoming to other cultures FFS .... ;)

As an ex-pat Pom (though fully neutralized and supporting aus in all sporting events, even against England) I wasn't aware that it was un-Australian (almost) to celebrate Halloween. Last year was the first time I did as my daughter was old enough to understand but it was certainly very busy in my part of Australia.

paint that thing orange and go for it Pipsyboy

being the good pagan i am i will be handing out chocs and hoping the takers prey for my soul ;)

Fastest...off-topic...ever...

Nice build. What were the cut outs for? I'm assuming expanda-foam or similar?

To quote Paul Gallen directly, "you cnuts better not hijack my thread". I was very proud of my Florian inspired beer engine esky.

Anyway, sorry for going off topic. Why is it considered un-Australian to celebrate Halloween?

Ice.

Put the bottle in and fill with ice via the cut outs. Replace cut outs. Cut outs are cut at an angle so they don't drop in.

Its part of the American cultural colonisation of Australia, and all for commercial gain. Like the 'must buy a pressie' for Father's Day, Valentines Day etc.

Some events have always been part of our culture since European settlement - eg, Christmas, Easter - but even they are way over the top commercialised nowadays.

Halloween is a more recent commercial import from the US.

Next thing to arrive here will be Thanks Giving.

No-one forces anyone to celebrate anything. I'm an atheist and I can sit out christmas if I want. Don't need to push anyone else to do likewise.
People realise that halloween has roots that predate white settlement of the us and that there are some american peoples who reside here, right?

Nice job with the esky engine by the way OP. You use it at whatever event you see fit. Beer is necessary for all occasions. That's as aussie as it gets.

Sorry to derail this thread but what's being used as the sparkler? Just standard attachment?

Yeah. Not tried it yet but hoping it's ok. May have to modify in some way.

A bit blurry but one hole either side inside the tip and one hole on the nozzle. Should do the trick.
