Hope all are ok in the eastern states/coast and Tasmania with regards to the floods and storms as shown on tv and in the news.

Anyone heard from Les the last few days?

He's our resident repeat offender when it comes to regular ponds in his house...

Last time Les raised most of his gear, just hope it was high enough and he and his are safe.

Spent Saturday night at Manning Point that's built on a sand spit between the Manning River (that was in flood) and the beach (12 foot waves) - in a fibro house, it was like trying to sleep in a washing machine
Then the SES came round door knocking with a load of sandbags.

The area dodged the bullet, but next morning, friend's wheelbarrow was full.

However most of the rain fell right along or just off the NSW coast so major flooding avoided, if the low had tracked 50k Inland from the coastline, I reckon nearly all the Northern Rivers would have been a disaster area.
Some flooding in Lismore where the Wilsons River and Leycester Creek join up right in the town centre... possibly not the best place to have built a wee town that grew to become a substantial regional city.

Nicely dry now and perfect ambient in the garage for ales ... frees up my fridges for lagers.

You should see the water heading for Launceston (just been live on Channel 7) - it looks like a scene from the Dam Busters

They've been complaining about how dry it was... Land of polar extremes eh!?!
