I have abuot 20gm of BSaaz left over and was thinking about using it as the aroma hop in place of Czec saaz....anyone think this would be ill-advised?

A Vienna lager is not a hop driven beer so B Saaz would be fine. I used Mt. Hood in mine and is fine. If you keep the OG to around 1.050 then keep the IBU to around 25.

great minds think alike FJ i'm making the same thing up tonight, 10g saaz B for 10m and flame out

had some left over from a bright ale clone and wanted to use it while still mostly fresh

Is is B Saaz they use in Macs Sassy Red?

The last brew I made was a vienna red with D saaz, tastes great out of the fermenter, still waiting for secondary to finish.

Phill, yup, its the cooler months and time to brew lagers without some sort of refridgeration :)

What triggered it was a bit of a desire to enter a few brews in the Vic Championship this year for the first time ever! I have a strong ale ready to go and another one fermenting now, I needed a lager and have been really happy with my Vienna in the past, but was paranoid about the Saaz B. Sounds like it should be fine though! Won't be brewing till 28th June though, conical wont be freed up till that week.

I might have to post an article about plastic vs. glass for competitions though! Maybe a poll?
