Cheers brother, I saw that episode when loading my ipod this morning, and my heart jumped for joy. Two kegs of something close to Meantime Porter is something I can definitely do with.

Nottingham?

Was it actually cloned ? This is beer is in my top 3, quite possibly at the top !

Not had a listen yet. Do they get help from the brewery at all? I'm sure there's no smoke in the porter.

cheers Ross

Yah they interview the head brewer, or at least one of the blokes that makes the beer, on all their shows

They had two examples of the commercial bottles, a stubby and a longneck from different batches.

The clone beer matched the longneck, but not the stubby IIRC.

The smoked malt was added to replicate some of the burnt grains likely present coming out of a historical malthouse.
