I just received the following from Grain & Grape. I've done a quick search and couldn't find any reference to this before now...


Australian Homebrewing Conference
It is planned that the inaugural Australian Homebrewing Conference (working title) will be held in October 2008 in Melbourne. It will be held in conjunction with the Australian Amateur Brewing Championships & will run over 3 days with seminars (including international writer /speakers), social events and a final night awards dinner.

Interested in helping with organizing the Conference?

The executive committee have met* & while we have had many volunteers we are now asking for expressions of interest from people interested in helping on sub committees. You will not be working alone it will be lots of fun and very rewarding. Please send your email to: [email protected] with an indication of areas of interest or expertise.

* We have a special requirement for an accountant or similarly qualified person to act as treasurer.

Would be great if they could hold club nights, like they do in the states.

I think that Basic Brewing Video showed a club night where someone stuffed a beer-bong full of hops.

Is anyone up for a beerbong randall?

I spotted this too, sounds intriguing. Meeting with brewers from around the country over three days sounds awesome. I'll be doing my best to attend if it's a goer.

Surely there's a lurker or two here with some inside word?

They mentioned this at the last Melbourne Brewers club meeting.

I think it is pretty much in a formative stage at the moment, but there is definitely a big push to get this event off the ground.

I am sure that if anyone is interested in being involved, they will be more than happy to give you something to do.
