Anyone else out there a pilot?

I've got a PPL, just clicked over 100 hours, NVFR, CSU, RG, and on the way to a PIFR. 3 CPL subjects down, more to come. Anyone offer some advice for the exams?

Cheers

I'm a glider pilot, but haven't taken to the air in years...

I started doing a powered license but (a) didn't enjoy the noise, and (B) didn't find it challenging enough :) I like doing things the hard way... just ask anyone who's seen be brew!

I'm an active Glider pilot with a few hundred hours but have just started doing a bit of power and will probably keep going so I can get a tug endorsemant eventually.

Just finished a great trip in a Piper : Syd, Phillip Is, Goolwa, Coober Pedy, Ayers Rock, Birdsville, Syd.

There were 2 of us (the other guy is PPL/IFR etc etc), took 8 days and I'm now saving to pay for the fuel!

Sounds like an awesome trip trev! i did some flying down phillip island when i was down there in feb and oct last year. really nice scenery, but not used to flying with more than shorts and t shirt on! lol.

I held (hold?) a PPL, but haven't flown for about 6 years.
I accumulated just shy of 300 hours over half on a R2160. I was flying basic aerobatics - Loops, rolls, wing-overs, steep turns and the odd spin.

Cheers,
Greg

Nice stuff Gregb

always wanted to do some aeros, but no one here has a capable aircraft.. keep trying to talk my flying school into getting a decathlon or something fun....

had a mate flying robins down in canberra, said they were a nice aircraft. nice and light, decent performance....

Why did you stop?

And the PPL is perpetually valid, you'd just need to do a flight review to be current again....

And i passed my 4th CPL exam today! yay... aerodynamics.. was just a pass, but hey, that's rocket scientist stuff. Happy anyway. 3 to go now.

I guess it just wasn't the kick that it had been. Other financial priorities took over etc.

I like the idea that I just need to rock up for a check flight and I'm back in.

Cheers,
Greg

Hmmm,

Beer and flying. Sounds dangerous

cheers

LOL....

yeah greg. talk to a school, i'm 100% sure that you'd just need a biennial flight review. you'd maybe wanna go do some circuits or something to get your head back in it, but that's all you'd need.
Where you from?

Greg you chased the flying up yet?

I flew to bundaberg yesterday for the airshow, was **** scared flying in there with all those other loonies. Especially since i was in a mooney (150kts) and a heap of the others were in jabirus etc (90 kts).. was interesting. Good show though, left bundy around 430, stopped at gladstone for fuel, and arrived home at 7pm, had my first night hour in command. was interesting flying at night without an instructor! nice clear night, could see home from 90nm out!

Glad you had a good one fixa .. was thinking of you up in the blue as I watched a couple fly over the reef on saturday.

Cheers

Mate, it was a magic day... blue skies, not a cloud... the kind of day you always hope for... gotta love QLD this time of year!

I started doing an aviation degree a few years back, i quit after 1 month lol
Last week i got a little RC helicopter, much more fun than studying :)

yeah they are good fun those little heli's. i've got 2, they're hard bastards to fly, but real helis are hard too. can't count the times i've crashed and rebuilt my little ones.

Here's a pic of my son on the way home from the airshow. He thought he was so cool with his new headset on!!!

We put his car seat in the back seat of the plane, and he sit's there happy as. Most times he goes to sleep when we take off, and only wakes with daddy's poor landings..
