    Dusseldorf Altbier Recipe

there is an interesting comment about 1007 in Dave Miller's Homebrewing guide. On pg 146 it says ... ... this yeast will indeed floculate early and rise to the top giving a huge pancake of yeast on the surface. However if the pancake is not skimmed, the yeast will fall back into the beer and...

    American Ipa Recipe

unfortunatly my beer ended up being a bit rooted ... I used a new air pump to aerate the wort and I think it imparted a horrible plasticy flavour to it. (either that or the Chinooks were even stronger than I gave them credit for) I ended up finishing the keg so it wasnt as bad as a couple of...

    American Ipa Recipe

Hi Jye, I would describe the aroma as "pungent" at the moment Since I was trying to make a big Skunk Fart I didnt bother with Dry Hopping. Belgian Strong Ale Hopping And Steeping Advice

I used .5kg of yellow rock sugar in my second-last placing ESB (28.5/50) I made recently. It may not be a factor, but it didnt seem to ferment too cleanly with S-04. It might be different in a belgian style but it had quite a white wine aroma to it. of course, this could be unrelated to the...

    West Coast Brewers

Ouch ! my ESB scored 28.5 cant say I disagree. I dont think pouring it into a soda bottle with my pluto gun 10 minute before I left helped this beer to be it's best. I detected a definate white-wine (goony) aroma when it was served at the comp and it was cloudy too. oh well, always next time...
