    Keg Infection

Thanks Mark. Ive got a sprayer that can inject undiluted bleach through the lines/tap. Ill give that a bash, and I have iodophor as well, along with starsan and Proxitane (peroxyacetic acid/hydrogen peroxide/acetic acid. Between all of these, I will be dissapointed if I can't get on top of...

    Keg Infection

Ok Guys - an update... Thought I had it nailed but it came back again, although Im not 100% convinced it isn't oxidization either. I replaced the cornys with PET alternatives. Im going down the iodophor path but Ive got myself a pond pump so I can circulate PBW through the font for half an...

    Off the shelf AG systems

I cant fault the Guten 50l. Attaching an old stillspirits column to the lid was a bonus as well.

    Back to the fold

Things have changed! from using an old crab pot and a recycled esky to a Guten. BIAB has revolutionised home brewing! 6Kg of co2 cost bugger all - to think I used to use an old fire extinguisher. Even an STC1000 is sub $20 Having said that, even after AG brewing for almost 20 years, Im just...

How long is it safe to run chiller?

Thanks for the replies - I've made some ice blocks from boiled water. I think Ill chill to 25 or so, chuck the ice in for half an hour and pitch at whatever it's at. Im using S189 for the first time, and will ferment @ 12. Good to see this community is still strong - I don't get to visit that...

How long is it safe to run chiller?

All, I want to spread out from my usual ales to a lager. When I'm chilling my brew, even though the ground water here in Goulburn is nice and cool at this time if year, it takes a long time to chill below 25 or so, a long way above the 15 odd degrees i'm looking at to pitch my yeast. Question...

    Keg Infection

All, Been a looooong time since I posted anything, but it's a new year, so here goes. I have a 3 font T bar sitting on a freezer, running an STC1000. One beer line has developed an infection. The usual, antiseptic, band aid type of infection. I have tried a few things, running caustic soda...

    'battle Of The Toucans'

Coopers Stout + Coopers Dark + 40g of cascade into fermenter. Done to 21 litres is a standard falling over water for me.

    G'day from pommyland

    (Re) breaking the AG cherry

Bingo - one name I remember...! Thanks for the feedback. Im not going to be in the house for a few weeks yet, so ample time to tweak it as I go. The other option I have is to go to my old staple, Pigs Arse Pale Ale (I think the recipe is still here somewhere) I was also hoping to find one of...

    (Re) breaking the AG cherry

Forum dudes, After a seven or eight year hiatus, I'm about to be in a position to get back into brewing. Putting my keezer together before I move, and planning ahead in earnest. Being on a farm has meant that I have had no time to do anything other than the odd dump and stir, but now that I'm...

Time to dust off the mash tun

Hi all... After a few years hiatus, I've decided that it is time to break out the gear and get the passion back. Haven't posted here for a fair while, and pretty much all of the names are new to me. Anyway, I'm going to kick it all off again with one of my old staples - Pigs Arse Pale Ale...

Dark Horse - Crooked Tree IPA Clone

This is eerily similar to an IPA that I've been meaning to get across the line over the last few weekends. Just for giggles I might do them both and have a side by side tasting. My version has 750g of crystal, which I am yet to be convinced isn't over the top. If I remember when I get home...
