What are you brewing 2020 and 2021 ?

On the list this weekend is the poorly named "session imperial" stout. I found an article on downsizing RIS grainbills with the intention of keeping the fuller body and wide range of malty roasty flavours. I also got the impression this recipe wasn't actually tested (the OG/SG/ABV didn't line up...

What are you brewing 2020 and 2021 ?

Just put down an... ale of some sort. Used my ESB base, but with all my leftover US hops (citra and cryo cascade). 91% Maris Otter 8% Bairds light crystal 2% Bairds dark crystal Cascade at 60 and 20 Citra and cryo cascade in the whirlpool London III because i have jars of the stuff

What are you brewing 2020 and 2021 ?

Brewed an APA last night, mostly to try out the cryo cascade i got from @Brewman_ . 93% Joe White pilsner 7% Bairds medium crystal All cascade hops with the cryo in the whirpool. I'll admit that i went for an english yeast though as i have six jars of London III sitting in the fridge. Do...

    The NEIPA thread

Sorry mates, kegged this about a week ago, i'll get some pics next time i pour one. I think with the increased oats and wheat this time, i probably needed a bit more of the honey malt. Didn't get any onion coming through in the finished product so that was a definite plus. Overall very...

    The NEIPA thread

Back on the hazy horse this weekend. Just finished re-brewing my last recipe but i upped the oats and wheat to 15% of each, as well as a touch of honey malt. Surprisingly easy mash with all the sticky adjunct grains. My only concern is the hops may have smelt a little oniony amoungst all the...

Thanks for that, i've got the SS posts so i grabbed the 6mm ID. With any luck it should arrive by my intended brew day

KK - 'Fermentasaurus' conical PET fermenter

Anyone got the specs of the silicone floating dip tube? Just pulled my snubnose out after a couple of months off and i broke the silicone dip tube trying to pull it free of the float

    The NEIPA thread

So, just poured a pint from my latest batch (simcoe, idaho 7, citra). Gotta say i am pretty happy with it, probably one of the best beers i have made. Cheers to everyone who has contributed to the thread so far. If only i could find lighting that did the beer justice....

    Brewman Dealz

Brewman i wanna extend my thanks, i just poured the first pint of an IPA i made with your simcoe, idaho 7 and citra. Got it from you about a month ago. Holy hell those hops are tasting fresh.

KK - 'Fermentasaurus' conical PET fermenter

So i did get a blockage about halfway through my closed transfer. Ended up turning up the CO2 and pushing the gas into the fermenter liquid post, pushed out whatever was in there and it was fine after. In other news 1318 floccs like a beast and took i'd say about 99.5% of the hops with it

KK - 'Fermentasaurus' conical PET fermenter

To sample or not to sample... So i've got a beer in my snubby that is most likely at FG now, but i am hesitant to take a sample due to a very large dryhop (dry hopped early so was mid-fermentation). The floating dip tube appears to be sitting amongst a whole bunch of spend hop garbage, and i...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

kegland, i'm thinking of getting a cover for the kegerator so i can move it out to the shed (read: very dusty). Is the cover designed to be used when the unit is running? I note that you have to give the unit space either side so that it can cool efficiently, but the sides would be covered by...

    GUTEN

An inventive solution, i am keen to hear how it performs. Also what sort of variation do people see while mashing? I had the 50L set to 800w for a batch with 8kg grain and 35L water and i was getting the temp overshooting to +2C. Any thoughts?

    The NEIPA thread

I guess my issue is i have been burnt by diacetyl before so now i am hyper paranoid... but that was due to loss of temperature control during the ferment.

Best Place To Get Co2 Refill In Adelaide

thread necromancy! Just wonder what the best options these days are out West? Ceasefire still? I could go to Beerbelly if things get dire, but it is a bit of a drive from here.

damn thats real quick. has that timeline ever given you any issues with hop creep/diacetyl?

    The NEIPA thread

This one went into the fermenter last night, checked this morning (10 hours later) and we have activity. Undershot my volume and my gravity and had some poor mash efficiency, but hopefully i should still get close to what i was after. For some reason the Guten had a lot of issues keeping mash...

    Whats In The Glass

First pour of the ESB i brewed a few weeks back. Pretty decent, although i wish i put something else in there alongside EKG... it is very "EKG-y". Oh well, hopefully that rounds out because i am pretty happy with it otherwise.
