    Hjc Global Imports

So, I finally decided to bite the bullet and expand into NASA teritory. One problem - the number that the whitepages.com.au has for "Hjc Global Imports" in Adelaide - (08) 8264 9911 - has been disconnected. So I called the Virgin Mobile phone number mob and they have the same number. So my...

    Amber Ale Recipe...done Before?

You shouldn't add the extract with the heat on, it risks scorching/caramelising the extract on the bottom of the kettle. Just disolving it in while still hot after flame out is a better idea. Cam

Best Way To Clean Yeast Off The Roof

I know I shouldn't but... I have not had to clean the roof myself yet, but I would think that a strong sodium percarbonate solution would soften the crud up a bit? It certianly cleans/softens the dried s**t off the internal shoulder of my fermenters.

Some Pics Of My Latest Diy Job

Regarding the hydrogen peroxide - you can apparently get it from the pharmacy, but up till the last time I looked (a couple of months ago) no one in Brisbane had been able to get it in months. Something about there only being one supplier to QLD, but not actually doing any supplying. There...

    Two Can Brew

It will be strong, and taste like cider from the kilo of sugar. Use a kilo of dried malt extract (DME) instead of the sugar and it will taste better, and still be as strong. Could be an idea to boil up some hops with the DME, but that adds complexity to the brewday and it will probably taste...

    High Abv Yeast

I am by no means an expert on this, but I did some reading a while back and it appears that most people using a 'still just use sugar and "turbo-yeast" (I beleve you can pick this up at you LHBS) to create a high abv "base", then distill it to create a pure spirit for flavoring. To answer your...

    Electric Hlt Advise...

Thanks for the info/feedback guys, I feel more confident I'm on the right track now. Lou - I will be using it in the HLT, so maintaining a rolling boil will not be an issue - but controlling the temp will be, hence the t'stat. Cam

    Electric Hlt Advise...

Hi all, I'm thinking that I will convert my current converted keg kettle into a HLT when I step up to AG brewing. What I'm thinking of doing is this, get one of the tobins "over the side" immersion elements (4108) and control it with a home made thermostat of similar design to this one but...

    eBay Items II

Look out! the description says NPT, you will need to get the right socket / lock nut for it. BSP has slightly different thread and using the wrong type will damage both threads! Cam

    Chilling Possibilities

I used 1/2" for mine to suit a converted keg boiler, it worked fine - I used a round pressure cooker with the handle removed as a guide. hth
