    I get between 80% and 85% mash eff all the time. Don’t stir the bed and make sure pump is turned down not to flow down O/flow pipe. OG’s are usually around 1.050 and only sparge with 5L to rinse the bed otherwise treat it as BIAB. Thats on a 40L looking at getting the 70L as im wanting to fill...

    Has anyone been successfully doing triple batches in the 70L version? Im currently running the 40 but want to smash out multiple kegs of quaffers as well. Time to brew can be hard to find between work so when i get a chance need to be able to smash it.

    How do you run your fermentation process in a room like that Weal? ie; d rest, cold crash and so on. Especially assuming each of those fermenters are a different beast.

    I’ve been getting the same discolouration but on the bottom of the kettle. Did nothing unusual was standard brews, water additions and heating regime. Figured it was normal heat discolouration.

    Ideas for closed transfer from basic HDPE fermenter

    Found a good way to do closed transfer from non pressurised. I used a silicon tube nozzle as a reducer to get down to beer line size. Found a bit of teflon tape was needed to get a good seal. Plan on straightening the taper on the tap nozzle as this should help it seal better.

    Irrigation shops sell heaps of stainless and brass fittings as in reducers of all sizes

    Yes you will need ventilation and a cross breeze otherwise you’ll have mold problems. I would where possible install two layers of brick with 50mm cavity this will act as really good insulation especially where the sun hits it. Cool room panels are a good idea but if not end sealed correctly...
