"the Heineken Keg" - Party Keg?

You can't refill em but if you whip down to bunnings and buy a cheap weed sprayer, they can be converted using a tire valve and a soda stream machine for the co2. Search You tube for the instructions. Very easy and cheap.

Multi Batch, Do You Multiply The Hops As Well?

Hi guys I am getting near the end of my last 80lt batch of Cascade hopped based JSGA clone (couldn't get Amarillo) brew. It turned out quite nice but now I have Amarillo. The JSGA recipes in the forums here seem to have a lot of hops in them; up to 60 grams per 20lt brew. If I am multiplying...

    Fermenter Quality

I Have a 95lt plastic drum from the local winery. It seals well because it has a spring loaded lid lock. The winery buy the clearing agent in them. Bloody fantastic for big brews. I have fitted a tap in the middle and one at the bottom. This gives me also sediment free beer in the first two kegs...

    Sq Golden Ale Clone Eureka!

I know about the amarillo. It's like rocking horse Droppings in Mildura so i substitued it with cascade. I had a stubby of the real deal in th fridge and they are very similar in flavour, especially the aftertaste. i'm happy with it anyway. Bloody good drop for a K&K attempt if i do say so myself.

    Sq Golden Ale Clone Eureka!

I was recently givena 100lt blue drum with a fully sealed lid. I fitted it out with some bits and pieces from the local irrigation shop and threw 80lt of my JSGA experiment into it. It has beena gamble but upon tasting the finished brew (un- carbed) i am very happy with the outcome fresh out of...

    Yeasty Dark Ale Volcano

The beermakers lager actually has an ale yeast in it. go figure? I picked it up at the Mildura HB shop. I must say though, the lager turned out to be a fantastic drop for a very plain brew. A can of goo, 300g of DLME, 1kg Dex and 15g of Cascade steeped for 10min in an expresso jug thing.

    Keg Maturing

I had recently experimented with a draught and some orange and lemon zest and juice. When i kegged it, it tasted like crap. Almost bad enough to write it off. Anyway i left it in the fridge for a few weeks and finally got around to throw it out and wash the keg for another offering. I gave it an...

    Anzac Landing Ale

Hey interesting idea. Maybe try some Belgium candy suger as a fermentable. France is a hard one... maybe a used pair of can can dancers' knickers. It might add an interesting aroma and mouth feel to the ;) beer

    Yeasty Dark Ale Volcano

There was about 2 inches headspace and the OG was 1056. I pitched at 23 degrees and its beeen sitting on 20-23 the whole brew. Checked it before and still bubbling. The grvity this arvo is down to 1020 and tastes bloody good apart from still being slightly sweet on the initial taste. i was...

    Yeasty Dark Ale Volcano

Cheers Razz. Yep the yeast seemed fine. It is bubbling like buggery at the moment. Pity i can't hook a turbine to to it. I could light the whole town withthe beer generated energy.

    Yeasty Dark Ale Volcano

I recently tried harvesting yeast from a beermakers premium lager. I then pitched a small vegemite sized jar into my honey cinnamon dark ale on Sunday. Today it was going that hard that it blew the water out of the airlock and sprayed the immediate area with my precious dark ale. :o I refilled...

    James Squire Golden Ale

Amarillo is like rocking horse shit where i live. Is cascade a reasonable substitute? By the way, heres the JSGA recipe from the craft brewer site. "In one purchase you will get everything you need to make your own James Squire Golden Ale style beer - Muntons Blonde + Brewcraft Light Liquid...

    Too Much Hops.

I recently did a morgans lager. Brewed it for a month at 12 degrees and stupidly remembered that i forget to add the Golden clusters hops. My HBS bloke said to add it after the brew. "floww the juice straight into the keg he said". So i boiled up 25g of GC in about 500ml water and through it in...

Hi All I'm using morgans blonde with light liquid malt, caramalt and casade (alternative to Amarillo) with US02 yeast. I was wondering how to treat he hops as i have not used cascade before abd had very little sucess with the other hopped brews. Steve
