    Rain water chemistry

    I ask the question even though the answer would seem simple..... Are there any chemical assumptions to make when inputting rain water into some of the brewing water calculators for brewing. For me it would be inland rain onto a Colourbond roof then into a Poly tank. Thanks, Bruce

    My dark beers are tasting hard and bitter

    Hi Guys, I would appreciate your thoughts on this. My go to recipes for Porter and Stout are tasting hard with a somewhat bitter finish. The other strange thing/ flavour is liquorice almost like old fashioned cough medicine at the finish.... not good. I can only think of 2 things which may be...

    Dry hopping with wet hops

    Raspberry Wheat Beer Problem

    Hi Guys, I have brewed a raspberry wheat beer in my Grainfather: 2.5kg. p.a.malt 2.5kg wheat 250 g. Flaked oats 80 g. Light crystal 28 g hallertau @ 60 min. Saflager wb-06 1.5 kg. Frozen raspberries @ day 4. Og 1040 Fg 1006 I brewed this beer as a Xmas ale to give away to the girls as gifts...

    About to brew my first Pilsner

    Hi Guys, I've got the Grainfather worked out now and a few brews under my belt. I'm in the high country around Orange NSW and the climate is very conducive to lager and pilsners at the moment. My shed is a consistent 12 -14 deg.C over winter - time to try my hand at some lagers My favourites...
