    Fathers Day Wish List

This year I've got fingers crossed on both hands for a gas burner. I'm even prepared to beg if necessary.

    Best Commercial Beer

Best Australian beer for me is Mountain Goat's Hightail Ale. A couple of pints at the brewery last night was heaven. Yummo.

    Monarchists Upset By Beer Ad

An attack on the monarchy or a bit of harmless pun? And to think that the band playing Bohemian Rhapsody dared call themselves Queen. The outrage.

    Adding Late Fermentables

Yeah, I mashed in a new vessel and I think I had some problems getting the water through the grist. Also, I tried a protein rest and had trouble hitting the mash temperature after this. Basically I think I was trying too much too soon and now I'm trying to salvage it. David.

    Adding Late Fermentables

Hello all, I made a pilsener last week but I achieved a very poor efficiency. The wort has fermented out to a low FG and the resulting beer will be thin and overly bitter. My question is, am I able to add additional fermentables to the beer at this stage (it is still in the primary) to bring...

Where Is A Nice Place To Get A Beer In Katoomba?

Hi, The Gearin used to have the Chocolate Porter from Paddy's Brewery on tap but I'm not sure that they still do. The Carrington has a couple of James Squire beers on tap and a small range of Australian craft beers in bottles (Mountain Goat Hightail and Pale among them). As far as bottle...

Gas Refill In Sydney - Swap N Go Alternative?

I know it's not much help for you at Willoughby, but for those in the inner west, Rays Outdoor World at Camperdown and Home Hardware at Annandale do refills. David.

    Hop Advice For American Amber

I've already got a kilo of Munich malt at home (18EBC) so I'll go with that in the recipe. The question is, how much of it should I be using? David.

Thanks guys, I wasn't sure about the amounts of specialty grains so thank you for the feedback on that. I'll play around with the recipe and post the revised version. David.

I think the Braidwood ESB is brewed under licence at St Peters Brewery. They still had a cask recently at the Riverview.

    Imperial Stout Drama

Hey alecart, Did you use an ale yeast during fermentation? With the cold weather, the beer may need longer to finish the bottle conditioning. Maybe grab a couple of bottles and keep them warm for a few days and see how they go after that. Good luck.
