Looks like I need to upgrade my RO system. I have a PSI countertop RO system which I use for brewing. The filters are getting a bit over 12 months old now and PPM came back at 9 for the batch I did yesterday. Should I be looking at upgrading to the unit you've linked scomet?

Silicone hose in the compost bin

I'd be inclined to replace the hose mate rather than risk ruining a batch trying to salvage the old one.

Alf, for our own peace of mind, run through your all grain brew day for us so we can check you're on the right track. 8kg of grain is going to make a very strong 23L batch of beer, if done correctly.

End of the resources boom check this out

That's the kind of cheap that attracts the wrong kind of applicants. However it is a great time for someone young who can find employment out that way to get a good head start on their house savings.

We're slowly covering every topic known to man. On a plus side, I think Alfred is gaining some knowledge in the field of home brewing and Tom Petty!!

Keg King MKII Pump - Low Flow Rate

I run 2x 2200w elements when ramping. I'd have in the vicinity of 40L of water to heat as I keep the coil fully submerged until I'm sparging. My step mashes may be along the lines of 55C to 66C where the recipe calls for a 15 minute step time, sometimes 30 minutes. The HLT gets up mostly on...

Keg King MKII Pump - Low Flow Rate

As per my response, 57L for all three vessels.

Keg King MKII Pump - Low Flow Rate

So in summary, KK pump is significantly under powered for my application? Next question, are the March or Chugger pumps up to the task? I appreciate the technical, well thought out responses too.

Keg King MKII Pump - Low Flow Rate

Where would I source a high LPM pump such as the March 815 suggested? Google and eBay searches seem to be a little hit and miss between off the charts expensive to "I think my money would end up in Nigeria" deals

Keg King MKII Pump - Low Flow Rate

57L x 3. My guess is there'd be negligible improvement using camlocks if the pump is under powered for the application?

Keg King MKII Pump - Low Flow Rate

Yeah I'd say that makes sense. I run 1/2" on everything but I recently read a thread on HBT and there was a youtube video showing that camlocks have a bigger ID than quick disconnects. I wonder if it would be worth the expense and hassle to change over. I find the QDs a bit hit and miss with...

I think we'd all feel bad, except the blatant ignorance to advice on this thread to the point some are unsure if he's trolling or not. I still want a video of the first lager opening though :D

Keg King MKII Pump - Low Flow Rate

Ok so that's out of my control. Is there any appreciable difference with camlocks over quick disconnects for flow rate?

Keg King MKII Pump - Low Flow Rate

I run a single tier fully electric 3V HERMS system with two Keg King MKII pumps to recirculate the HLT water and the wort through a 1/2" stainless steel coil mounted in the HLT. One thing I've noticed is the significant delay between the HLT temp and MT temp on my PIDs when I'm ramping up...
