Gladfield malts PPG and °L values

Aye. But inputing a new malt in BrewersFriend requires a PPG value and a Lovibond value.

Gladfield malts PPG and °L values

MHB, thanks for the PPG calc, I'm about to use Supernova in an Amber Ale and was pretty much guessing the value. However, doesn't the colour calculation EBC divided by 1.97 give you the SRM value not the L value? I have been using brewtoad calculator for colour...

    Keeping your sack clean

Pretty much what I do. Rinse as best I can in hot water and hang on clothes line for a week or two. Rain and UV radiation seems to do the trick. Also give it the ol' "sack sniff" test.

Pot & Bag for partial mash or all grain

Hey pcmax A partial with the 32L no probs but I think you'll have difficulty to get 23L in the fermenter with a 32L pot. You have to take into account absorption by the grains and also evaporation during the boil. I have a 38L pot and I wouldn't go any smaller as I have gotten pretty close to...

Last bag of Citra: no chill SMASH

Hey Shacked I brewed a vienna / citra SMASH with US-05 a while back. IBUs were in the 30's if I remember correctly. I found it rather sweet and cloying (FG - 1010). I have tried other all citra beers (although I haven't tried Zombie Dust) and I just don't think it's my bag to be honest. Citra...

Beer Machine Money Trap Warning Don't Buy

What are people's thoughts on using as a mini keg? Just prime in the BM, then once carbonated chuck in the fridge? Saw one second hand for $30 which seems a cheap way to reduce bottling.

Going all grain with BIAB Grain questions

Drinking a MO based IPA now and very happy with the result. I'm like you in the fact that I'm trying to learn all the flavours of different base malts (and hops and yeasts.....). I really like the flavour it brings to my beers and find myself fighting the urge not to use it to explore other...
